I usually find myself winning ~20,000 gold per tournament, if I win (but if I don't win, I'm short 500-3,000 gold, which sucks). On the bright side, a number of companions (especially the knights) come in at high levels from the very beginning with a few points in Trainer, so you can easily upgrade an army of recruits into mid-tier troops within a few days.Īlso how much can you bet it tournaments? Mercenaries are definitely what you want in the beginning just because you don't want tissue-paper recruits making up your whole army when you go up against the bandit armies wandering around, which are all superior to Native Sea Raiders (except, like, common looters, who are still hilariously weak punching bags).īut mercenaries get expensive about as fast as usual if not faster in the case of the really good ones, so you probably don't want to maintain a large mercenary army. :'DĪre mercenaries a more viable option in POP since money is more readily available? Or are they still just as meh? I just loaded up my first-ever save a few days ago and I had a bunch of points in worthless skills that I should have delegated to companions. I spent too much time being drunk and putting skill points into stuff my companions already had skills in. It's somewhat more difficult than Native in most respects, but money is easier to come by because you can bet more on tournaments, and you should be fine as long as you make sure to pay attention and dodge the superblobs (until you have to defeat the superblobs, which is terrifying and not something I look forward to ever attempting). The main issue I have with PoP is that I'll be crossing the map quickly, not paying full attention, and then bam, I've slammed headfirst into a 1000+ army which rips me to shreds. I might not be explaining it very well, but it's really not as complex as you would think, haha.Īlso based on my very cursoury (sp?) examination of this thread it seems as though POP is harder than the devil's dick after encountering a serial killing pedophile.

You literally just download the mod, which should be a zipped folder unzip the folder and cut/paste the mod folder inside the unzipped folder into your Modules folder. I had this same concern for a long time, but it's actually pretty easy. I don't really understand how to safely and properly run em.

I loathe to admit this, but I'm kind of a pleb when it comes to mods.
